Levonorgestrel ECP Tablets

Levonorgestrel ECP Tablets

Levonorgestrel ECP (Emergency Contraceptive Pill) Tablets are a form of emergency contraception designed to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure, such as condom breakage or missed birth control pills. These tablets contain Levonorgestrel, a synthetic progestogen, which works by preventing or delaying ovulation and making it harder for fertilization or implantation to occur.

Levonorgestrel ECP is a single or two-dose oral tablet commonly used as a “morning-after pill.” It is not intended for regular contraceptive use but rather for emergencies when other methods were not used or failed. The effectiveness is highest when taken as soon as possible, preferably within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse.

Primary Use: Prevention of unintended pregnancy after contraceptive failure or unprotected sex.

Provides a safe, non-invasive, and convenient option for emergency contraception.

Does not affect long-term fertility if used occasionally

Serves as a backup method when regular contraception is missed.
