Heparin Injection
Heparin Injection is an anticoagulant medication used to prevent and treat blood clots in various medical conditions. It acts quickly and is commonly administered in hospital settings for immediate clot control, especially during surgeries, dialysis, or in patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
It contains unfractionated heparin, a naturally occurring mucopolysaccharide that enhances antithrombin activity, inhibiting clotting fact and preventing thrombus formation.
- Used for treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and clotting complications in atrial fibrillation, surgeries, and dialysis.
- Rapid onset of action
- Dose can be adjusted easily with monitoring
- Useful in emergency and inpatient care
